It would be cool to see before/after photos of the edges you redid to change the tiller. What you describe sounds like I should be doing that to my recurve, since I shoot with a fixed crawl and the bow doesn‘t like that. I‘m afraid of ruining the tiller though, by removing to much material on the edges. Great and very informative video!

You have put my journey to video perfectly. I had a 25 plus year journey through compound innovations culminating in a 330 fps setup that was an absolute 40 yard tackdriver. Then as my age progressed, my vision declined sending me in a spiral in ability to acquire my sight pins. I gave my bow s away to younger eyes and taught them bow set up, tuning, and maintenance. Have not touched a bow for 7 years. Then, 1 month ago, I came across a you in a review video of the Sanlida $99 dollar package and made the purchase. I have had this bow for one week and through your videos, humble delivery of instruction, and simple to follow techniques, I am once again enjoying a new journey at 62. I am already having really good groups with the included string and arrows which has inspired me to put in an order for B55 strings to build a Flemish string, some GT warrior shafts and weighted inserts. In short, my passion and dedication have returned and I just want to say Thank You. My evenings are now spent with arrows flying true into hay bales with a grin on my face.

Nice shooting! I checked out the broadhead you mentioned and watched the Lusk video on it. Very impressive! I love traditional archery and have about 15 trad bows and two compound bows. I had target panic bad a for a few years so I went to the compound because I couldn't short draw it! I still enjoy it and will probably hunt some with it even though I'm pretty committed to my longbow this coming season. You mentioned the 6.5 arrows but didn't mention spine unless I missed it. What spine works out of your bow. I saw your response of 65 # draw. What draw length? I have a 27" draw with trad. and a 28" draw with compound bows.

I just bought a new 50lb Samick discovery 60” with 17” riser. I put a 10 twists in the string and put it on. I cannot get the brace height more than 5 inches. I know it needs to be around 7 1/2. I can’t figure out what is going on. Manufacture said it’s the same string they have matched with it for 10 years. What could be going wrong. Thanks

I'm having a very difficult time getting mine to shoot that way. I have tried different spine arrow and different rest but still struggling getting it to shoot bare shaft consistently. Any suggestions ? Thanks

  • @anotheryoutuber_

i love shooting my traditional bow but hunt whitetail with a compound. i dont shoot a with a peep, just either a nose button or kisser and wanted to add a tip in case it can help somebody. i converted a 5 pin sight to a one pin sight by removing three pins. i left one additional pin to use as a ranging pin. if the belly to back is inside of the two pins the deer is either outside of my range for acceptable drop or too small for me to wanna shoot, if the whitetails body is outside of the distance of my two pins, i know its inside of my shooting range, then i just drop to my top pin and let it fly. im definitely better now than i was a few years ago at judging distance but the pins help me reinforce my choice quickly while calming the nerves to deliver a confident shot.

A few years ago i bought a mission. Came with everything except the arrows. I still shoot fingers. Due to work and family obligations i couldn't in good faith Hunt with my recurves because i didn't have the time I used to to shoot. But that mission is a tack driver.

I really like where the archery industry is going with these super good shooting Amazon trad bows and over the last handful of yrs the top quality budget compounds!!! Big name flagship bows now will run a person $2000-3500 setup. That is so ridiculous to me at least. Bless you if you have that kinda extra income but a bow like you have for $600-750 setup with arrows will kill you anything in NA that walks so you don’t need the top end if you don’t have the extra $$$.

Finally someone that actually took the time to help out people who just can’t shoot a high poundage bow. I completely separated my shoulder from the ligaments that hold it in place when I was young and it just never quite healed correctly. I was always told by bow hunting guys even when I went bow shopping if you can’t draw and shoot a 50-60# bow minimum you have no business bow hunting especially deer. Pretty much deterred me from the sport when I was younger because I couldn’t draw much more then about 40# So I just never got into other then the occasional target practice for fun. Great video!
